Robert Vernon Yonce, 83, of Statesville, N.C., went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2023. Robert was born on December 22, 1939, to Vernon William and Margaret Timmerman Yonce, in Aiken, South Carolina.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Gerri Yonce and Katherine Ann Yonce.
Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marsha Ann Butler Yonce, son, Gary Yonce; grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Yonce, Jennifer Yonce; great grandchildren, Summer Wood, Cayden Yonce, Weston Yonce, Penelope Wilson; and sister, Phyllis (Mike) Hallman.
Robert loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, he retired from G. L. Wilson, attended Western Ave Baptist Church, and absolutely loved to sleep.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 6-8 pm, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service and burial will be held in South Carolina at a later date.
