Thomas G. "Tom" Kyles Sr.

BOONE- Thomas “Tom” G. Kyles Sr., 94, went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, July 26, 2016.

Born August 25, 1921 in Statesville, NC, he was the son of the late Robert and Beulah Kyles.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 65+ years, Eloise Brown Kyles and son, Michael Wayne Kyles.

Survived by son, Thomas Gene Kyles Jr. and wife Lisa of Boone, NC; daughter-in-law, Fran Kyles of Western, NC; granddaughter, Jennifer Kyles Spencer and husband Chad; grandsons Ryan Thomas Kyles and Andrew Michael Kyles and four beloved great-grandchildren.

Tom was an honored veteran of WWII then served 19 years on the Statesville PD and Chief of Police of China Grove, NC. He then owned and operated Wayside Barber in Iredell County for many years.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, July 29, 2016 at 2pm in the Westmoreland Chapel at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Troutman Historical Cemetery in Troutman.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
