

Virginia Sigmon Moose 87 of 246 Old Airport Road, died Thursday, December 20, 2012, at her residence. She was born in Catawba County on July 31, 1925, daughter of the late Clyde and Grace Shook Sigmon. On August 24, 1946, she married David Lee Moose, who preceded her in death on January 17, 1974. Also preceding her in death was a daughter; Nancy Moose and a sister, Evaline S. Grant.
Virginia loved her husband and enjoyed working alongside him at Moose Machine Shop. She attended Bethlehem UM Church. She loved gardening; vegetables and flowers, particularly rooting and growing azaleas. She was co-owner with Lonnie Wooten on M & W Warehouses and West Statesville Warehouses.
She is survived by a daughter Debra Moose Rogers and husband Wade and a son, Tom Moose all of Statesville, grandchildren Merritt Rogers, David Wade Rogers and Bradley Moose. Also surviving are sisters; Betty Starrette, husband Herman, Shirley Galliher, husband Bill, Kaye Davidson, husband Jack and a brother Paul Sigmon and wife Illa Mae.
The family would like to give special thanks to the loving caregivers; Amy Ladd and Becky Ladd as well as Hospice of Catawba County. They are requesting that memorials may be given to Hospice and Palliative Care of Catawba County, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
Services celebrating Virginia’s life are scheduled for Sunday, December 23, 2012 in the Westmoreland Chapel at 3 p.m. with Rev. Cokie Bristol. Private burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m.
