Catherine Elizabeth Elliott

Catherine Elizabeth Elliott, 82, of Middlebrook, passed away on Friday October 5, 2012 at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fishersville.

Mrs. Elliott was born on September 10, 1930 in Augusta County and was a daughter of the late Portland Chalmer Sr. and Lillie Alice (Reed) Elliott. Catherine was a homemaker and attended Shenandoah Baptist Church in Verona. She was a diehard Bingo player, sometimes traveling great distances to play.

In 1958, she married Thomas Edward Elliott who preceded her in death in 2004.

Mrs. Elliott is survived by a daughter, Patricia Elliott of Staunton; a granddaughter Charis; and one brother, George Rowe and wife Wanda of Middlebrook. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by two brothers, Portland Chalmer Rowe, Jr. and Glennie Earl Rowe.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 9, 2012 at 2 pm at Shenandoah Baptist Church in Verona with Pastors Everett McCulley and Matthew Glenn Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shenandoah Baptist Church, 170 Lee Hwy, Verona, VA 24482.
