Mary Annis Forsyth

Mary Annis (Demastus) Forsyth, 87, formerly of Sussex Drive, passed away on May 11, 2024 at Baldwin Park in Staunton.
She was born in Staunton on November 24, 1936, a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Mary (Serrett) Demastus.
Mary Annis graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 1954 and retired from Stuart Hall School in May of 2005 after 46 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James “Jimmy” Calvin Forsyth and an infant son, James Calvin Forsyth, Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Forsyth, (Vicki Keyser), of Staunton, Jamie Graves (David) of Fredericksburg; two grandchildren, Isaac Forsyth Graves, Emma Rose Graves; three step-grandchildren, Amy Beyer (Jason), Jeff Keyser (Amanda), Sara Miller (Justin), seven step- great grandchildren and one brother, Charles E. Demastus, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Thornrose Cemetery with Daniel Pritchett officiating.
All those wishing to attend the service may meet directly at the cemetery.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
The family sends their heartfelt appreciation to all the staff at Wellspring Village/Aviva Baldwin Park for their excellent love and care.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shenandoah Valley Animal Services, 1001 Mt. Torrey Rd., Lyndhurst, Va.22952.
