Denise loved her family dearly. She treasured time with her husband Dave, daughter Natalie, and her sisters- whether it was swimming at the lake, playing games, shopping at craft fairs, taking leisurely walks in nature, or going on trips and having new adventures together. She tracked everyone’s birthdays (and there were a lot!) and diligently sent cards. When hosting family gatherings, she was sure to have an abundance of food and freshly baked desserts. She also enjoyed caring for her cats and many plants. During her last year of life, she received immense joy from babysitting her granddaughter Maven, reading books and playing at the park together.
She retired in 2013, having spent over 30 years as Deputy Clerk for the Town of Cicero.
God was central in her life, and it was her mission to love and help others in every way she could. She was an active member at Faith Community Church in Stickney, where she served as treasurer, deacon, Vacation Bible School craft leader, and generously volunteered her time serving refreshments, gardening, and helping in numerous other ways.
With compliments, jokes, and the occasional prank, her sense of humor and lighthearted nature brought a smile and laughter to everyone she met. Her warmth and positivity were a ray of sunshine to the world.
A visitation for Denise will be held at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402, US, on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A prayer service will take place that evening at 6pm.
