I went to Andrew Jackson Language Academy and Whitney Young High School with Jean-Pierre.  We both used to live on Cullerton St. in Chicago, and I had a big crush on him when we were in 7th and 8th grade.  I remembered him through out the years and had been looking him up on facebook to see what had become of him, but had no luck locating him until today when I decided to google his name.  I was shocked to learn of his death less than two months ago.  I truly never expected to find such sad news.  RIP Jean-Pierre.....you will be greatly missed.

I went to Andrew Jackson with Jean-Pierre and we were best friends. I remember him winning the science fair with that solar powered oven! We were playmates outside of school and visited each other a few times. For my French class, because there was no "Ryan" translation; I chose "Jean-Pierre." We had a memorable Halloween with Charisse and Lisa Reynosa. Very good times. It was great that we went to Whitney Young together as well! I remember the last time I saw you guys was at his muscle physique contest when we were sophomores--and I believe he won! This is such sad news. Unfortunately, I just read about this (9/22/13). The best times I had in a squad ca,  were with you. We would hit the village and then 18th street. Back and forth. We would get a "head" and then back out on the streets. No matter how crazy it ended up, you always had my "six".  Duty, Honor, Loyalty and Courage were not just words but a way of life for you. There is no doubt in my mind, that Heaven has welcomed another warrior and you will continue your fight against evil. I will miss you and you will always be in my heart. John was one of the best police officers I have ever known and a wonderful person to know.

I worked with Jean in the 012 District.  He was a wonderful person, great son, an exemplary Police Officer and later Sergeant.  I met his parents and they are also wonderful people. My prayers are with them and his fiancee, what a terrible loss.
