He was born December 6, 1954, to Cora [née Luxen] and Raymond J. Young, Sr., and grew up in Cicero, Illinois. He graduated from Morton East High School. He worked for Illinois Bell, now AT&T for over 30 years in Cicero, Illinois.
He was the husband of Debra [née DeFilippis] Young, father of Dana Basner, grandfather of Orion Basner, the brother of Barbara Ourada, Marilyn Guzman, and Joan Townsend, the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Mount Auburn Funeral Home, Stickney, IL handled arrangements.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Parish, 4300 S Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402, followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM.
