Robert Dietrich

Robert Dietrich was born on June 9th, 1964 in New York City, where his family had emigrated to from West Germany. Shortly afterward, the family moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he grew up. He graduated from Lane Technical High School and went on to North Central College in Naperville, where he earned a BA in Marketing with a Minor in German. He graduated in 1992. He worked for Hanjin Group for many years as a dispatcher, then became a truck driver for short haul trips. He was very proud of his work. He also did a short, one year stint in the United States Navy.

Robert Dietrich left behind his mother, Erika Garbrecht, his sister, Sabine Prather, his ex-wife Jennifer, and many cousins, half-nephews, and relations by marriage.

He joins his father Heinz and his baby in Mt. Auburn cemetery. We hope he resides in the land of his faith and that he is in a peaceful, happy, sunny place.

Friends and family will gather for a funeral service for Robert that will be held Wednesday, July 19th, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main Street, Huntley, Illinois 60142.
