Mrs. Huey was born on April 15, 1935, to Thomas Omer Humphries and Clemmie Adel Needham Humphries. She was a data processor for the State of Georgia Department of Education until her retirement. Mrs. Huey was the youngest of 12 children. She was one of the kindest people you would ever meet, always greeting you and telling you goodbye with a kiss on the check whether she had known you forever or just met you. Family and friends will tell you that "her heart was as golden as her soul". Even though she was a strong willed person, everyone who knew her loved her. She was kind, loving, and fun loving. Mrs. Ruth loved being outdoors and her favorite thing to do was raking leaves. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her sisters, Mary Faye Evans of Sylacauga, Alabama and Martha Jeanette Tatum of Donalsonville, Georgia; her nephew and caregiver, Mike Tatum and his wife Gail of Donalsonville, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Huey was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Omer Humphries and Clemmie Adell Needham Humphries; her husband, James Huey; and 9 siblings.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Betty Ruth Huey will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Fairview Memorial Gardens with Reverend John Bailey, officiating. Family and Friends will gather at 1:00PM at The Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia.
