While Mrs. Strawn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, “Granny” was a true Southern lady and good Christian woman who enriched the lives of everyone she touched. She left us with a legacy of memories that will be with us forever. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Morrow, and a current member of Jodeco Baptist Church of Stockbridge. Betty enjoyed her association with the Georgia Power Ambassadors and Silver Tones. Her lively personality rubbed off on everyone, including strangers she would meet. She was a traveler, excellent southern food cook, a loyal care-giver, and enjoyed sharing laughs with her loved ones.
Mrs. Strawn was preceded in death by her loving husband, William A. Strawn, Jr., and son, Larry Strawn. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa & Dennis White; Grandchildren, Kristi & Joey Senger, Kelly Jarrard, Martin & Natalie White, Emily & Cameron Archer, Ticia & Robert White (deceased). Great-grandchildren include Cameron, Alex, Taylor, Gavin, Christian, Adele and Jordan. She also leaves behind many relatives and special friends, both old and new, who were loved and cherished. We encourage your special memories and condolences to be shared for Betty Strawn at the website: www.HorisAWardFairviewChapel.com.
Betty spent her final days in the Emory University Hospital Hospice. We want to thank and honor the dedicated nurses, doctors, and staff for the tender and compassionate care they provided to Granny.
