Chloe Carter

Chloe was born February 22, 1941 in Comer, GA. She is the daughter of Cleveland Henry King and Annie Ophelia (McCannon) King, formerly of Stockbridge, GA. Chloe attended Fulton County High School and graduated from DeKalb County High School. She was employed as a supervisor at Masters Manufacturing in Atlanta, GA until her marriage when she became a homemaker. Chloe married Bill Leon Carter on December 26, 1959 and together shared 53 years of happiness. She was dedicated to her husband, their two sons, and special daughter-in-law/caretaker. Later in life she became an entrepreneur with her husband in many business adventures.

Chloe loved with her whole heart, her kindness was abundant, a sweet soul, a God send to her family, especially siblings, beautiful inside and out, and faithful to the Lord. Chloe walked in her faith daily. She was totally devoted to Jesus and her church Crossover Ministries. She had a tremendous talent for singing gospel music. Chloe had many other talents with her hands accomplishing sewing, needle craft, quilting, ceramics, cooking, canning, gardening, decorating and a hobby collecting giraffe’s. She generously shared her creations with family and friends.

Chloe is survived by son Charles Leon Carter, daughter-in-law Christine Carter, granddaughter Carolann (Dylan) Pierce, grandson Jessie (Maranda) Curlee, great-granddaughters Quinn and Everlee, sister Janice (Robert) Hannah, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Chloe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Carter, son Scott Carter, sister’s Lanelle Ogles, Martha Holland; brother’s Colin King, Louis King.

Much appreciation is given to Chloe’s caretaker’s Charles, CC, Anne, Kelsey, and The Lighthouse Community Hospice Team.

A visitation will be held on February 4, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia, 30281. The funeral service will follow at the same venue at 2:00 pm. Services will conclude with a graveside committal at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia, 30281. Pastor David Morris of CrossOver Ministries, officiating.
