Darrell E. White

Mr. Darrell Edward White, age 55, of Hampton, GA passed away January 29, 2014. Darrell was born in Corpus Christi, TX the son of the late Carlos Raymond White and Margie Lee Wester White. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Holmes. Darrell enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, electronics, gardening and was known for being a good handyman. Darrell was a member of Southside Christian Fellowship Church. He was a Henry County Sherriff's Deputy with 24 plus years of service. He was among the first who help to organize the Henry County Police Department and the Honor Guard for Henry County Sherriff's Department. Darrell was a former Spalding County Fireman, Dundee Volunteer Fireman, Forest Park Fireman, and a supervisor with Grady EMS. Darrell was an ordained minister who enjoyed serving and volunteering in his community. He was an evangelist with the Motor Cross for Jesus. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Master Mason with the Meridian Sun #26 in Griffin where he served as Senior Warden. He was a licensed FCC Ham Radio operator (KE4RQP). Survivors are his wife of 33 years, Theresa White of Hampton; son, Allen White of Hampton; brothers, David White (Sherry) of Griffin and Douglas White (Gail) of Griffin; several nieces and nephews and his dog "Baby Doll". Funeral service for Darrell will be Monday, February 3, 2014 – 2:00 PM at McDonough Christian Church, 2000 Jonesboro Road, McDonough 30253. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens with Rev. Eddie Mason and Rev. Paul Leslie officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 2 – 4:00 PM. For those who wish a love offering may be made to the family in lieu of flowers.
