Elizabeth "Betty" was born on August 31, 1937 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born to Mr. Russell Helbley and Mrs. Ruth Thompson Helbley. Elizabeth was an avid church goer and committed her life to God from an early age. Elizabeth married her late husband, Mr. William R. Boggs, Sr. on November 24, 1956. William "Bill" and Elizabeth had five beautiful children and lived a happy life together until 1988, when William "Bill" passed away.
Elizabeth "Betty" enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren play sports; from playing football in the yard to playing baseball and softball games. In her past time, she watched general hospital for over 40 years and loved watching Jimmy Swaggart on television and even had the chance to travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to see him in person. She enjoyed listening to Christian music her entire life. She worked in retail for a number of years and enjoyed her time as a Walmart door greeter until she retired.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Russell Helbley and Mrs. Ruth Helbley; sister, Beverly Helbley; husband, William R. Boggs, Sr.; son, William R. Boggs, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Patricia Boggs. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Boggs (Lisa) of Hampton, Georgia, Sandra Cloninger (Toney) of Dallas, North Carolina, Karen Fleury (Darryl) of McDonough, Georgia, and Edna Rogers (Kelly) of Sharpsburg, Georgia; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
On Tuesday, March 27, 2023 from 4:00PM-7:00PM there will be a visitation in The Fairview Suite at Horis A. Ward-Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, where the Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 11:00AM. She will be laid to rest at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
