He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 26,1950 to the late W.C. Winter and Myrtle (Watson ) Winter.
John is also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lynn (Cornett) Winter, and several siblings.
He is survived by his daughter, Regan Winter and his son, Jay Winter. Also surviving are sisters, Carolyn Hawkins and Susie Gardner, along with many nieces and nephews.
John loved golf, animals and Las Vegas. He and Lynn together loved to travel. John's passion was selling trucks. He was employed by Bellamy Strickland Automotive in McDonough, Georgia for 40 years. He loved his family dearly but most of all he loved his wife, Lynn.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 02:30 p.m. at Wesley Way Methodist Church, 150 John Wesley Way, McDonough, GA 30252. The family will receive friends from 01:00 p.m. to 02:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281 following the service.
