David was my first boyfriend....We were together from 8th grade to our senior year. I just found out of his passing! He made me a beautiful  cedar chest ....as we moved on in our lives I carried this cedar chest all around the US ...my husband was in the Navy as a P3 pilot and then a pilot for Delta Airlines. 

David would have been surprised that I have kept it and cherished. He was a very talented and personable person!

 David Ivey was the same from the first time I met him to the last time I spoke with him. A friend for life. He was always for you no matter. We don't get many chances in life to be in the company of people like him.
 I'll cherish the memory of David as long as I live.

Just a few months ago Mike and I were invited to David and Regina’s.  He was the perfect host, grilling out and opening up his home for celebration.  Everyone knows his health struggles but he pushed through and never once complained.  We will always be grateful for his friendship and for the many times he opened up his home to us.

I would like to offer my condolences to the family.  I worked with David on the ramp for many years.  Along with Chauncey Simpson we were what I considered a pretty dynamic team.  In all those years of working together, David and I  grew to become not only great work mates but close friends as well.  He will be missed for sure, but David gave me an aquarium and the cabinet he built for it, and it's placed in my living room filled with fish that I enjoy watching.  So in a small way, I still see my old friend every day.  Ecclesiastes 12:7, then shall the dust return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

We made lots of memories over the last 20+ years but our “family” trip to Alaska is one of my favorites! I love you SA! 

This fish loved to be caught! We turned it loose multiple times. There's so many wonderful stories I'd like to tell about this young man and all our adventures together. I invite you to come down to my fishing dock some day and we'll share.  I love David and w

We often enjoyed "casual" fishing. Unless there was a "tournament" going on.  Like having Ashley come down for a little father/daughter compition! During these afternoons on the dock we talked about our family, future projects, politics, and especially about why the rest of the world wouldn't listen to our solutions!

Some days David was like a son to me, others he was like a brother.  Every day he was David,  my best friend and confidante. We talked either on the phone or in person almost every day for many years now. This picture is David the day before his first cancer surgery. 

All too often we'd have to take a break from talking and catch a fish. Look at that smile! Yep, this is a very big bream! We turned them loose so we could catch again and again.  

David had a passion for building! Here he's doing a final walk through on my dock he built.

Our condolences goes out to all the family, the day I heard that David had passed away I had a sad heart. Me and David worked together for along time at Delta When i would see David and I would make a point to stop at his gate and shake his hand and ask him how everything was going. He was that kind of guy well respected by all . They alway say we lose the good ones too soon and David was a good one. 

All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.  So very sorry for your loss.

Our neighbor and friend for 20 years. We are going to miss calling you and sharing brisket. Thank you for all the memories , Fishing trips, ballgames, and neighbor outings. Our hearts are broken and our love for you, Regina, and all the family will remain forever. "Whats going on" was a special greeting and now we say to you, keep a spot for us next door to you in heaven. We love you, Micky and Terrie Clark.

David was smart and a very good person.  I have known David for over fifty years. We went to Woodward Academy, played football together ,then we both worked the ramp for Delta Airlines. We carpooled and did side jobs together. I will always remember the great times and laughs we shared on our paths together. May you rest in peace with Gods love.
