He was born on February 18th, 1942 in Atlanta, GA to Lamar Thompson Sr and Mary Virginia Brown. Lamar was a Loving Husband, Loving Father and Loving Grandfather. He was a member of New Hope Methodist Church for many years. Having a true passion for the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. Lamar worked in construction until his retirement with the County of Dekalb. He is preceded in death by his parents Lamar Sr. and Mary Virginia Brown. He leaves to forever cherish in his memory, wife Eileen Thompson, 3 children Lamar (Rocky) Thompson Jr., Robin Thompson and Todd Thompson. 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A visitation for Lamar will be held Monday, December 5, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home.
