Lauren was born in Missouri on December 10, 1944. He worked for Toyota Forklifts of Atlanta, retiring after many years of dedicated service. He met and married, Phyllis Blount. Together, they built a life of love, support and caring for all of their family.
PaPa, as he was affectionately called, was a strong "man's man." He loved the outdoors. Everyone knew about his vegetable gardens and his care for his yard and home. Although he was never able to serve in the military, he was a true patriot. PaPa was an active and fun loving person. He was also well-known for his famous cookies.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; daughter, Crystal Kendrick and fur babies, Maddie, Tink and JJ.
Lauren's life will forever be remembered and cherished by his wife, Phyllis Watkins; daughters, Carrie (Thomas) Messina, Kelly (Teresa Hetrick) Watkins, Dara Cooper, Deanna (Scott) Fincher and Hayley (Alex) Waltenbaugh; son, Wesley Watkins; fur baby, Sissy; grandchildren, Brandy (Johnathan Daniecki) Glaze, Kelesha (Leonard) Bland, Michael (Marcia) Monckton, Charles (Dawn) Goodwin, Mike (Helen) Thomason, Clinton Thomason, Lauren (Chris) Messina, Rebecca Rice, Nicholas Iannuzzi, Baleigh (Tyler) Fincher, Abigail Fincher, Teagan Waltenbaugh, Bobby Glaze, Vaida Glaze, Crystlynn Glaze, Ansley Wilson and Sophia Glaze; sister-in-law, Linda Whitaker; a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and family friends.
A Service of Honor for Mr. Lauren Arthur Watkins will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2:00PM at Harvest Baptist Church, 2075 Highway 212, Covington, Georgia, where the family has invited guests to join them for a meal and Celebration of Life immediately following the Service of Honor.
