Morris "Butch" Joseph Chesser, Jr.

Butch was born February 25, 1943 to the late Helen and Morris Chesser, Sr. in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother who was loved by so many. He was also a Christian man that loved the Lord. Butch was an active and faithful member of Glen Haven Baptist Church and also a devoted minister of music. He was a part of various gospel groups throughout the years. Butch was an avid sports fan and loved to attend various sporting events. He also enjoyed camping and being outdoors. He was an absolute animal lover. He loved his fur-babies and they loved him dearly. Butch was treasured by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Helen S. and Morris J. Chesser, Sr., Butch was preceded in death by one son, Mr. Larry L. Chesser. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Mrs. Frances Chesser of Lithonia, GA; two daughters, Angela D. Weber and Carol A Wimberly (Brad); ten grandchildren, Butch “Randy” Wilson (Stacey), Joey Chesser, Jake Wimberly, Courtney A. Denham, Crystal A. Hicks (Russell), Hannah G. Weber, Brittany A. Thacker (Will), Faith N. Dupree (Nathan), Cara Wimberly, and Shelby Wimberly; eight great-grandchildren, Katie Rose Denham, Remi Davison, Eric Davison, Landon Hicks, Parker Bean Hicks, Kinslee Wilson, Kolby Wilson, and Cole Thacker; five siblings, Joanne Swafford of McDonough, GA, Larry R. Chesser (Yvonne Persons) of Locust Grove, GA, Shirley Jordan of Lake City, GA, Carolyn Wiggins of Newborn, GA, and Linda Ferguson (Bill) of Molina, FL; multiple nieces and nephews, and three fur babies, Scooter, Snoopy, and Molly.

A visitation will be held from 11:00AM until 12:00PM on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Glen Haven Baptist Church, 345 E Lake Road McDonough, GA 30252. Celebration of Life services will begin at 12:00 noon in the sanctuary of Glen Haven Baptist Church. A graveside committal service will immediately follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road Stockbridge, GA 30281. Pastor Brady Howard, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions are welcome to the Beyond Measure - Building Fund in memory of Butch Chesser.
