Patricia Jo Karr (née Long), 91, of Stockbridge, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, after a long battle with dementia. Born on October 17, 1934, in Decherd Tennessee, Patricia was the youngest daughter of George Washington and Lucy Edna (Hill) Long. Patricia was the youngest of twelve siblings all of which preceded her in death.
Patricia graduated in 1953 from Franklin County High School in Winchester, Tennessee. She was active in the F. H. A. Club (Future homemakers of America), Press club, Dramatic club, O.B.E. club, O.G.A. club and she was the Secretary & Treasure of the Art club. She majored in Business work and minored in math & science. In school she was well loved by her fellow classmates and teachers, in school her favorite hobby was dancing, her ambition was to live in Atlanta Georgia someday and her favorite expression was Oh, fiddlesticks.
Patricia eventually moved to Stockbridge Georgia; where she became a member/church secretary of the Fairview Church of Christ.
She was well known for her mischievous sense of humor and strong friendships.
Despite this terrible disease of dementia she still had a sense of humor and her mischievous laugh, always telling us “I can’t make it” but on Tuesday May 12th she made it! ending the battle and winning the victory!
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 1:00pm at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral home.
