Rosalind O. Johnson

Rosalind was born on February 24, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Roy K. Searcy and Georgene M. Jones. She spent her formative years in Rome, Georgia, where she attended East Rome High School.

It was in Rome that she met her first husband, Era Jones (deceased), and in 1965, they welcomed their son Kevin. Rosalind was a determined woman who believed deeply in education and personal growth. After Kevin’s birth, she continued her studies at Harvard Business College.

In 1970, she married Roosevelt Anderson, and their union was blessed with two children: Lisa and Roosevelt Jr. (Roy).

Rosalind was a dedicated and hardworking professional, spending over 40 years with the K-Mart Corporation, where she rose through the ranks to retire as a manager in 2008. Her work ethic, leadership, and compassion earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike.

A woman of unwavering faith, Rosalind accepted Christ at a young age and carried that light with her throughout her life. She was a proud and active member of Glen Haven United Methodist Church, where she gave her time and heart to ministries such as the food pantry, clothes closet, and Mothers Board. Her service to others was a reflection of her enduring love and generosity.

Rosalind's legacy lives on through her children: Kevin (Cheryl), Lisa (Joe), and Roosevelt Jr. (Toshia); her grandchildren: Karyn, the late Roosevelt III, Karla, Rosalind (Nate), Stacy, Riley, and Roosevelt IV; and her great-grandchildren: Venetia, Machi, Kevin (KJ), Jehlani, Kylie, and Kyran. She is also survived by her

loving siblings: Teresa Thompson, Roy Searcy, William Searcy, David Searcy, and Dani (Kenneth) Rutledge; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

Rosalind lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She will be remembered for her strength, her wisdom, and the grace with which she touched the lives of so many. While she is deeply missed, her spirit remains alive in the hearts of those she loved.
