Sadie, as she was affectionately called, was born on July 17, 1936 in Forsyth, Monroe County, Georgia to Stanford Alexis Waldrep and Julia Evelyn Reeves Waldrep. She came from modest means. She grew up in a loving Christian home and was raised in the church. She loved spending time with family, friends and cousins between Forsyth and Jackson, Georgia.
Sadie graduated from Mary Persons High School. She furthered her education at Reinhardt College, studying typing and clerical training.
Sadie met the love of her life in Bobby Gene Estes, a proud Marine. They were married on December 27, 1958 and remained happily ever after supporting and loving each other until his passing on April 3, 2001.
She did clerical work in Atlanta, Georgia for over 20 years for Amoco Oil Company, until the company moved to Kansas. She then worked at the State of Georgia, Capitol Building for a few years. Later she worked for State Farm Insurance Company for about two years until she retired in 1982 to become a housewife and caretaker. Sadie looked after her father-in-law and took care of the house. She took pride in this and did it well.
The family moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 1985 when her husband, Gene was transferred. She loved living in Tennessee and had many friends there. Sadie and Gene loved camping in the motor home and would go and stay with family in the camper. They had planned to travel the country but Gene’s failing health would not allow that.
In September of 2013, after encountering health issues, Sadie moved in with her son, Michael “Mike” and Georgia became her home again. She lived with Mike and his wife, Linda until her death.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; husband, Bobby Gene Estes; nephew, Brett Fussell and brother-in-law, Steven Stevens.
Her life will forever be honored and cherished by her son, Michael Dean Estes; daughter-in-law, Linda Carol Estes; sisters, Nancy Waldrep Fussell and Julia Waldrep Stevens; brother-in-law, Jackie Fussell; grandchildren, James “Curtis” & Erin Estes, Jennifer Elaine Garcia and Amy Melissa Brown; great-grandchildren, Tyler Garcia, Trevor Garcia, Kayla Flowers, Brittany Carroll, Daynah Brown, Breannah Brown, Dakotah Brown and Brennan Estes; great-great-grandchildren, Kylie Garcia and Kathryn Garcia; nieces & nephews, Billy & Ann Estes, Susan Stevens & Louis Crosby, Katy Stevens & Vince Stammetti and Justin Fussell; several great nieces & nephews, great-great nieces & nephews and family friends.
