Lewis, as he was affectionately called, was born on December 21, 1937 in Norfolk, Virginia to Stanley Lewis Smith, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Whitehead Smith. After high school, he attended college and enlisted in the United States Air Force. Lewis met and married the love of his life, Constance "Connie" Smith. He worked for Delta Airlines as a Jet Mechanic and Instructor, retiring in 1993.
A Gathering of Family & Friends for Stanley will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 6:00PM-7:00PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, followed by a Celebration of Life at 7:00PM.
