With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful transition of Takisha "Kiwi" Corinthia Harley on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the age of 51. This vibrant woman from Johns Creek, Georgia, formerly of Stockbridge, Georgia, was born in Brooklyn, New York, but her spirit was too vast to be contained by any one place.
Kiwi was more than a mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend - she was a force of nature who brought extraordinary joy and love into the lives of everyone she touched. Her infectious laughter, quick wit, and generous heart made her the kind of person people were naturally drawn to. Whether she was whipping up a culinary masterpiece in the kitchen, busting a move on the dance floor, or crafting something beautiful with her own two hands, Kiwi had a way of turning everyday moments into memories to cherish.
Her family was her world, and she poured her boundless love into every aspect of their lives. As a devoted wife to Dwayne "Bongo" Harley, Kiwi was his rock, his partner, and his best friend. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and a love that only grew stronger with each passing day. As a mother to Scott, Shantea, and Jahmani, Kiwi was their guiding light, their confidante, and their biggest cheerleader. She had a gift for making each of her children feel seen, heard, and loved in a way that was all their own. And as a grandmother, Kiwi showered Delajia, Tekwan, Shyheem, and Zion with the kind of unconditional love and adoration that only a grandma can give.
Kiwi's love extended far beyond her immediate family. She was a true friend to so many, always there with a listening ear, a comforting word, and a warm hug. As a proud supporter of the Stockbridge High School Marching Tigers, Kiwi could be found at every game and performance, cheering on the kids with a fervor that was simply contagious. Her energy was infectious, and her presence made every event just a little bit brighter.
Though Kiwi may be gone, her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched. Her love, her laughter, and her indomitable spirit will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew her. She may have been small in stature, but Kiwi left a legacy of love that is nothing short of enormous.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Hussey and brother-in-law, Elmo Mercer.
Kiwi is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dwayne "Bongo" Harley; children, Scott Fogle, Shantea Perkins and Jahmani Harley; grandchildren, Delajia Patterson, Tekwan Fogle, Shyheem Fogle and Zion Aldrich; the Sisters of Love; the Brothers of Love; mother, Martha Fogle; brother, Dondi Fogle; sisters, Enjoli Fogle, Meika Fogle, Mona Reed and Veronica Carew; sisters-in-law, Celeste Swan, Monica Swan, Natasha Miranda and Cynthia Harley; brothers-in-law; Alva Swan, Roan Miranda and Herman Harley; mother-in-law, Olive Solomon; sister-cousin, Marie Sennett; and a vast extended family and network of friends who will miss her every day.
A Celebration of Kiwi's Life will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. All are welcome to come and share in the stories, memories, and love that defined Kiwi's extraordinary life.
