Wayne C. Kirby, age 89, passed away in Jonesboro, Georgia, on Thursday, November 6, 2014. He was born January 31, 1925, in Stockbridge, Georgia, to the late John and Lillian Kirby. Wayne was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Moore Kirby, and a daughter, Karen E. Kirby. Wayne retired from Norfolk Southern as an electrician and was a proud WWII and Korean War Veteran.
Survivors include sons, Phil Kirby and his wife Barbara, Danny Kirby and his wife Kimberly; daughter, Ann Brown and her husband Paul; grandchildren, Bonnie Simpson, Caleb Brown, Katharine Pendleton; great grandchildren, Sadie Simpson, Hunter Simpson, and Gracie Brown. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, November 16, at the Kirby Home, 3247 Jones Road, Ellenwood, Georgia, 30294.
