Alfred Dewey Garcia

On August 9th 2024, Alfred "Alfie" Garcia passed away peacefully in Stockton, CA. He was born on September 15th 1951 in Livermore CA. To Felipe and Pilar Garcia. Alfie was a beloved husband, father, papa, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Alfie is preceded in death by his parents Felipe Garcia and Pilar Garcia. Sisters Martha Mateo, Lydia Sanguinetti, Isabel Belmontez, Rosie Flores and Helen Smith. Brothers Philip Garcia and Ernie Garcia. His grandson Aaron Kelly Jr. and great-grandson Jaylon Sample.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Mary Garcia. Daughter Fina Cayabyab, son-in-law Ronald Cayabyab. Daughter Joanne Santos, son-in-law Justin Santos. Daughter Renee Garcia, son-in-law John Tellez and Daughter Marcie Garcia, son-in-law Greg Terrones. Grandchildren Alyssa Hong ( Johnny ). Jocelyn Santos. Alexa Cayabyab (Kevin). Marissa Kelly. Alana Kelly. Jordan Santos (Cinthia). Georgie Terrones and Adrian Terrones. Great-grandchildren Leilani, Kameron, Joziah, Kai, Alani, Gianna, Ace and Anaya. Sister Pauline Bowen and brothers Joe Serna and Sam Alvaro.

Alfie was a painter for over 40 years. Throughout his career he was known for his hard work, dedication and passion for helping others.

But more than anything else he was a loving husband, father and papa. He loved spending time with his family sharing stories, joking around, listening to music and dancing. He enjoyed gambling with his sons-in-laws and friends. Alfie loved to be the life of the party (AL night long).

Alfie started his day by having a cup of coffee sitting on the porch and playing his favorite games on his iPad. In his free time he enjoyed drinking a nice cold Budweiser and smoking a cigarette.

Alfie was loved and respected by many. He was always there to offer guidance, support and encouragement no matter what challenges they faced. Alfie had a heart of gold and would give his last dollar if you needed it. He will be truly missed by all.

A visitation for Alfred will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at De Young Memorial Chapel, 601 N California St, Stockton, CA 95202. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 23, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 601 N California St, Stockton, CA 95202. A burial will occur Friday, August 23, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, 719 E Harding Way, Stockton, CA 95204.
