Caroline Louise White

Louise White was a loving mother, wife and daughter, and a truly special person. She dedicated her life to preserving life and promoting the health and well-being of women while bringing new life into the world.

Caroline Louise Nicolodi went by the name Louise from childhood in honor of her grandmother, Luigia Nicolodi. The family was poor and she never knew her father but she was showered with love by her aunts, uncles, and her mother, Flora. Her closest friends often called her “Nicki”.

Born and raised in Modesto, California, Louise excelled in school and graduated with honors from Thomas Downey High School in 1960. She completed nursing school at San Joaquin General Hospital in 1963 and was well loved by her classmates. She went to work as a nurse at Schmidt, Gallagher and Cobb OB-GYN medical group and remained at the Doctors’ office for over 25 years. During that time, at the urging of her colleagues, she became a Nurse Practitioner. After her retirement in 1989, Louise worked for another ten years at Delta Family Planning, a women's health clinic in Stockton.

Louise is preceded in death by her mother Flora Ann Cunningham (1979), son Timothy White (1990), and lifelong friend Margo Mulliniks (2014). She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, David White. She leaves behind her children, Kevin White (Paula White), David Shimmin (Shelley Gage), Anne White Suess (Judith Suess) and Michael Shimmin (Rose Butterfield). Her life was blessed with grandchildren Missy Dixon, Andrew White, William White, Christian White, Noah White, Krista Suess, Melissa Suess, and great-grandchildren Rowan White, Ash White, Coral Dixon and Lily Dixon.

Words cannot describe the magnitude of our loss as a family and a community. Our sorrow can only be equaled by our gratitude for the gift that she was. Her selfless love and positivity, her humor, intellect and charm will live on in the lives of those she touched. Her eternal beauty will never fade from our hearts.

A funeral service for Louise will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM at De Young Memorial Chapel, 601 N California St, Stockton, CA 95202.
