Catherine Lorraine "Kay" Eddy Bryant, a 59-year resident of Stockton, passed away peacefully on Sunday Oct. 5. Catherine was born in Chicago, Illinois November 13, 1922 to Albert and Sarah Greffin. She was the youngest of six children. As a young woman, Catherine and brother Al were ballroom dance instructors at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. This experience remained a highlight in her life. It was WW11, and this is where she met her future husband, a young sailor named William Eddy. They were wed August 3, 1943. In 1955 William "Bill"accepted an offer to transfer from Illinois to Stockton with International Harvester, and they moved west with their two daughters. Catherine was a wonderful homemaker, devoted wife and mother. She was a dedicated volunteer, notably at St. John's Episcopal Church as both Sunday school teacher and Altar Guild member. She was a cancer survivor and volunteered for many years with American Cancer Society's Reach to Recovery program, encouraging and educating women in recovery from breast cancer surgery. In 1985 Bill passed away suddenly at age 62. Catherine took a second leap of faith in love in 1987, when she met and married longtime Stocktonian Guy O. Bryant. They enjoyed nineteen years together until Guy's passing in 2006. Catherine loved nothing more than spending time with her daughters and their growing families, especially for birthdays and holidays. She will be missed in more ways than can be written, but we are joyous in knowing she is now with her Heavenly Father, and rejoice in her new happiness. Catherine is survived by daughters Sally Felkins and husband Don, and Margie Azzaro and partner Dan Rankin. Grandchildren Greg {Joan}, and Stephen {Rhonda} Felkins, Danielle Ribeira and Trevor Azzaro. Great grandchildren Alex {Kelly}, Arianne, Nicole, Logan and Paige Felkins, and Kaelani, Kai, Kalea, Kaeli, and Kaniella Ribeira. Great great grandson Robin Felkins. Special Thank yous to the staff of Creekside Care Center, and Hospice of San Joaquin. A private family graveside service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations go to the charity of your choice.
