Cedric Arthur Trujillo, born on May 10th, 1942, left this world on January 3rd, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many.
Cedric was born in Los Angeles, CA, to Cedric and Josephine Trujillo. Cedric grew up as the oldest of three brothers, Richard (Bugs), Benny, and Mark. Cedric married his lifelong love, Anita Trujillo, and on June 3rd, 1967, they began a journey of love and companionship that lasted 56 years. Together, they raised three sons, Stephen, Michael, and David. As a family, they spent many years at the softball diamond and their later years playing golf. Cedric became a proud grandfather of six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Cedric was an accomplished athlete, he excelled in baseball, football, and basketball during his years at Tracy High School. His life was filled with service and dedication. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from July 1960 to July 1964, receiving an honorable discharge.
His professional journey led him to a 33-year career with the U.S. Postal Service as a Window Clerk. Cedric formed lifelong relationships with coworkers and customers.
Cedric played baseball for Club Mexico and formed Los Caballos with his father-in-law, David Padilla. Referred to as "coach" by many who played for him, Cedric passionately led teams such as Sport Shoe Sity, Delta Rebels, and Buchmiller Plastering in fastpitch softball. Cedric's love for
sports extended beyond his playing years, earning him a place in the CalMex League Baseball Hall of Fame and the San Joaquin Mexican American Sports Hall of Fame. Even in retirement, he continued to contribute to sports as an umpire for high school softball and baseball, later managing the ballpark for Tracy Parks & Recreation. Additionally, Cedric was a course marshall at The Reserve at Spanos Park for many years. Throughout Cedric’s endeavors in life, he created numerous lifelong friendships that remained near and dear to his heart.
Cedric's sense of humor and unwavering support made him the best grandpa to his grandchildren. He took joy in spoiling them with treats and cheering them on in their various sports endeavors. His pride in being a grandfather surpassed all other achievements.
Away from the sports field, Cedric was an avid San Francisco Giants and San Francisco 49er fan and a long time 49er season ticket holder. He spent countless days cheering on his team at Kezar Stadium and Candlestick Park. His other passions were listening to music, gardening, phone conversations, and going out to lunch with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Trujillo, two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael (Kristy) Trujillo and David (Claudia) Trujillo. Cedric is also remembered by his six grandchildren: Kylie (Robbie) Knittel, Kaitlyn (Robert) Olagaray, David Trujillo, Michael Trujillo, Eric Trujillo, and
