

Cipriano Paragas DeGuzman, beloved husband, father, and U.S. Navy Master Chief Petty Officer (Ret.), passed away peacefully on the 18th of August 2025, at the age of 80. Born on March 10 1945 in San Carlos, Pangasinan, Cipriano dedicated his life to service, family, and community.
A proud Radioman Master Chief, Cipriano "Tony" served with distinction for 31 years, including aboard the USS Independence during the Persian Gulf War. His valor earned him the Navy Commendation Medal with four stars, the Navy Achievement Medal, and numerous other honors. After retiring, he worked at the post office while cheering at his children’s karate tournaments, showcasing his unwavering support.
Cipriano met his beloved wife, Florencia, at a dance club in Hawaii, sparking a lifelong love story. His warmth, dedication, and quiet strength inspired all who knew him, from a young Filipino sailor awed by his rank to his family, who cherished his presence.
He is survived by Florencia, his wife, Anthony, Darryl and Jennifer, his children, Jaydhasen and Mila, his grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 PM, September 15th 2025, De Young Shoreline Chapel 7676 Shoreline Drive 95219.Fair winds and following seas, Master Chief.
