

Concepcion is survived by her sons Roberto, Rodolfo, Rodrigo, daughter Ligaya Camales and sister in law Corazon Educalan Aplicador. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marcos Educalan, and two older children, Leonila and Soledad Educalan, who passed away during World War II. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Jose Mangohig and Jesus Mangohig and sisters Arsenia Raguine, Filipina Ladon, and Fidelina Bernabe.
Concepcion was born on May 14, 1923 in Calapacuan Subic Zambales, Philippines to Esteban Mangohig and Pascuala Costales. She attended elementary school in Zambales. She married her townmate Marcos Educalan on June 27, 1942, and were married for 66 years. She worked as a homemaker, owned a “Sari Sari” store in front of her home, sold ground coffee, and hosted bingo socials with friends and families in the Philippines.
She had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the Philippines and the United States.
Her oldest son Roberto who is married to Brenda has one child, Vangie.
Her next son Rodolfo, who is married to Cecilia, have four children: Marvin (deceased), Michelle, Rochelle, and Mark.
The youngest son, Rodrigo who was married to Willene “Baby” (deceased) have three children, Chantrelle who has a daughter, Danelle and granddaughter, Shervin who is married to Jom Tranco and have three children, Glane Hernshly, Keighshowne Furipi, and Kirk Sebastian Rose and another on child on the way to be named Ocean, and Shayne who is married to Mark Sanchez who have one daughter Carlyean Zieyehn.
Her daughter Ligaya, who was married to Leopoldo Raguine Camales (deceased), has four sons, Wendell Camales, who is married to Elgie Agcaoili Camales. Wendell and Elgie have two children, Justin and Jasmine. The next oldest son is Oliver Camales who is married to Sharon Aguilar-Camales. They have one daughter Emma Elizabeth. The son is Leopoldo Camales, Jr. The youngest son is Alexander Camales, who is married to Maria Camales.
Concepcion also had nephews: Armando, Wilfredo, Bayani Raguine. Her nieces were Merla Managan, whose daughter is Grace Her other niece was Ning Raguine.
Concepcion’s brothers in-laws were Benjamin Educalan, who is married to Lourdes Efe, and Henry Educalan, who is married to Ligaya Educalan.
She migrated to the United States with her husband, Marcos, in 1988. She stayed in Oxnard, CA, till 2016. While in Oxnard, she was a member of the Senior Citizen of Ventura County and Zambales Association. She attended two Adult Day Care Centers in Ventura County for fifteen years. In 2016, she moved with her daughter Ligaya, son-in-law Leopoldo Sr., and grandson, Leopoldo Jr., to Stockton, CA, and attended another Adult Day Care Center for another three years.
Concepcion is known for being kind, friendly, and generous to all those she meets. When she meets you, it seems like she has known you for a very long time. She loved to sing Tagalog, Ilocano, and English songs. Concepcion also loved to travel and go shopping. She watched various Tagalog and English shows, especially the game show “Wheel of Fortune.”
Her secret to her long life was no eating meat, no cold drinks, drinking five cups of coffee a day, and daily prayer. She did not like drinking water as she did not like the taste.
She brought a smile to everyone she came in contact with by talking to them as they were curious to find out about her age. People did not believe she was the age she was because she never had to use a wheelchair, and her mind was still sharp and witty. Her most famous quote to her immediate family was, “If I’m not here, you’re not there,” Which translates to Tagalog “Kung Wala Ako, Wala Kayo.”
