Doris M. Munoz

Doris Marie Stoss Munoz passed away quietly in her home on October 23 with family by her side. She was 84 yrs old. Doris was born and raised in Stockton and was the second child of Frances and Elmer Stoss. She attended Stockton schools and graduated from Schneider Vocational School. Doris married the love of her life, Antonio "Tony" Munoz, in 1950 and together they raised 5 children. She was the proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was a stay at home mom who cared for her children and also her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking her famous recipes, and hosting family gatherings. She and Tony were members of St. Luke's Catholic Church for over 60 years. Mrs. Munoz was preceded in death by her husband Tony of 65 yrs, on September 9th. She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Gillis of Stockton and her husband Gary and their children Nathan, Erin and Leah, daughter Marian Battles of Fresno and her husband Gary and their children Eric and Samantha, Margurite Frank of Pennsylvania and her husband Gary, and their boys, Matthew, Andrew, Luke and John, her sons Gilbert Munoz of Stockton and his children Bryan and Amanda, Gary Munoz of Stockton and his wife Tina and their children Anthony and Jenna. Visitation and Rosary will be at DeYoung Memorial on Thursday, October 29, from 3 to 6 pm. The Rosary will follow at 6 pm. The Funeral will be held on Friday Oct. 30 at 1 pm at St. Luke's Catholic Church with graveside services at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery immediately following. Donations to Hospice of San Joaquin or St. Luke's Elem. School are being requested in lieu of flowers.
