Faye was born on Dec. 20, 1921 in Vermillion, Kansas to John and Anna Laughridge. She spent her childhood in Kansas, came to Stockton as a teenager, graduated from Stockton High School and Humphrey's Business College. Her twin brother, Ray, introduced her to her dear husband "Walt", with whom she lovingly shared the next 66 years. While separated by World War II, she worked for the Army at Sharpe's Depot. When Walt returned she became "his housewife" and dear mother to their two children. Later, she worked part time as a bookkeeper, being especially busy during "tax season."
Moving to "Atlasta" ranch in Lockeford, CA in 1976, she enjoyed country living, sharing special times with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren and her many friends. She joyfully hosted many BBQ's and church gatherings including hay rides, square dances, and bonfires. She returned to Stockton in 1987.
She was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church for 62 years where she loved the Women's Circle, teaching Sunday school, and was Financial Secretary for 15 years. She cherished her church family of friends.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband Walter Nelson and her beloved son Walter "Dennis" Oliver (Vicky). She is survived by her daughter Sharyn Carr (Bob), 5 grandchildren, Traci Carr, Robert Carr Jr. (Tina), and Jeff Carr all of Stockton, Deanna Alloway (David) of Tigard Oregon, and Walter "Kenny" Oliver (Emily) of San
Diego. 5 great grandchildren include Jordan and Jason Carr, Alex, Aiden, and Hailey Alloway.
