

Florencio A. Sinogui Jr., born on October 17, 1941, to Florencio and Margaret Sinogui in Phoenix, Arizona, passed away suddenly on July 6, 2024, surrounded by his five daughters, granddaughters, grandsons, great-granddaughters, great-grandsons, and niece’s.
Florencio attended Edison High School, was married to the love of his life for 30 years before her passing in 1993. He never remarried, but instead stepped up after her passing to help his daughters raise their families. He was close to his son-in-law’s and treated them like they were his sons, they respected and loved him very much. He spoke to his granddaughter and great granddaughters in Wisconsin every morning. In 1999 he and his oldest grandson flew out to Kalamazoo, Michigan for his two oldest granddaughters Softball World of Series…they took the train home. He spent the last 31 years with his grandchildren and felt lucky to watch his great-grandchildren grow and have conversations with them.
He worked for Stockton Unified School District for 30 years, retiring as a warehouse worker. He was the California School Employee Association (CSEA) President in the early eighties. In his early years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping with his family, going to "Earl's" place, boxing, and attending horse races.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life Eleanor Sinogui, grandson Abraham Palacio, Jonathan Damian, great-grandson Abraham Palacio III, great-granddaughter Tuesday Reyes, son-in-law Douglas Cooper, and siblings Helen Godoy, Adell Delacruz, Norma Granadoz, Virginia Trejo, Rita Castro, and Jesse Sinogui.
He is survived by brothers Ronald Sinogui, Florencio Sinogui IV, Joseph Peraza, his daughters Kristine Ramirez (Jaime), Darlene Stacher (Stanley), Pauline Cooper, Margaret Chapparo (Alfredo), Nora Sinogui, godchildren Tammy Aldava and Tracy Englet.
Grandchildren, Angelia Hill (Casey), Ja'Quelin Ibus (Daniel), Oscar Mendez (Tiffany) Precious Ramirez, Florencio Sinogui III (Tyara), Arnold Reyes Jr. (Kiana), Alyce Schneider (Dustin), Vincent Palacio (Caitlan), Lorenzo Flores, Katelyn Cooper, Jodie Martinez (Eric), Angel Perez (Lydia), Patricia Diaz (Jorge), Alma Damian, Martin Hernandez (Veronica), Eleanor Chavez (Carlos), Jesus Hernandez (Miranda), Andrew Paul Juarez, Mauricio Hernandez, Jhovany, and Jose Murillo.
Great grandchildren Julian Thoma, Jianna Bowen, Kobe Ibus, Haley Hill, Marisela, Beatriz, Louie (Gonzales), Arianna, Oscar IV and Benjamin Mendez, Layden Sinogui, Hanna & Logan Palacio, Jace Flores, Maki, Malana and Marri Coleman, Collin and Alyssa Patterson, Maya Mickelson, Karla, Christine, Monylaina, Christopher, Santino and Geanna Perez, Ruby, Emma, Alma and Benjamin Damian, Isabella, Mila and Antonella Diaz, Annalee, Carlito and Kai Chavez, Jessie, and Aurora Hernandez.
The family would like to thank his nieces Jeanette Delacruz, Rosie Gutierrez, Becky Godoy, and Angelina Granadoz and dad’s compadre and best friend Joe, Lydia and Aurelio Torres, for their support while our dad was in the hospital.
Services at DeYoung Memorial Chapel on California St., Visitation Wed July 17th 2pm to 6pm. Rosary Thurs July 18th at 6pm. Mass of Christian burial 11am Fri July 19th at St. Gertrude, with internment at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery on Harding Way immediately following the mass.
