A lifetime native of Stockton, Frances Sue Gaia, 93, passed away on February 11, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alessandro and Amelia Maffei; brother Frank Maffei and her husband of fifty-two years, Caesar L. Gaia.
Frances is survived by her four daughters, Judith Platt, Jeanne Gaia (Hugh Lilly), Norma Goonan (Frank) and Vicki Gaia (Jim Melquist); four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Frances is well loved for her devotion to her family, extended family and her friends and leaves us with many wonderful memories.
Our family would like to thank Linda Gonzalez and Veronica Wohl for their loving kindness toward our mother and also to the staff members at the Hospice of San Joaquin and The Commons on Thornton for all their support and care.
A celebration and remembrance of her life will be held on Thursday, February 18th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton, CA, 95202.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin in memory of Frances, 3888 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204.
