

Gwendolyn is survived by her husband, David Lagesse, her children, Julie and Brian (Susan), and grandchildren, Brent, Brad, and Brice.
Gwen was born in Richmond, California to James and Maxine Lester. She graduated from a Nurse’s Aide Program in 1965 and later a Nursing Assistant Program in 1995, working as a Home Health Aid. She moved to Hawaii with her mother in 1968 where she met her dear husband at the Armed Services YMCA in Honolulu in December 1969. They were soon married on July 19, 1970. They spent a few years establishing a family together before settling in California in 1976.
Gwen was an active and dedicated member of the Cub Scouts, BSA, acting in many roles, in which she earned the Silver Beaver Award and the Wood Badge Award. She also served as District Commissioner for the Scouts and was a current member of the Daughters of Isabella and a past member of the Woman of the Moose. Her family remembers her as caring, considerate, and intelligent.
Gwen was a driven and dedicated woman to her hobbies and handicrafts. Gwen was all about service. She spent decades serving others across the San Joaquin. She lived her life in the service of others. She will truly be missed.

A rosary will occur Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM, 809 North California, Stockton, CA 95202. A mass of Christian burial will occur Friday, October 4, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 6715 Leesburg Pl, Stockton, CA 95207. A graveside will occur Friday, October 4, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Cherokee Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 14165 Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240.
