

Born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 7, 1924 to Antonio Scotto Rosano and Annuziata (Pernice) Scottorosano.
Joe enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served as WWII Aviation Radioman/Navigator in the South Pacific on a VB144/VPB198 Land Base on Tarawa, Gilbert Is.
In his professional career, Joe worked for Carnation Milk Co. for 26 years and received his real estate license, practicing with Bud McCombs. He later established his own real estate business.
Joe also co-owned and operated Vera’s Catering and Distributing and the Ione Shopping Center.
He was an active community member and Past President of Eagle Club aerie 83 F.O.E. for over 30 years. He was a prominent participant in the Stockton Grandmothers Club and helped to establish a retirement community for Grandparents in Coarse Gold, California.
He is preceded in death by his brother Jack Scotto, first wife of 25 years, Nancy Montana, his son, Anthony, and daughter, Claire Dyer. Joseph recently suffered the losses of his wife and business partner of 42 years Vera Scottorosano and his step-daughter Ruth Keener.
He is survived by his children Joseph, Debra, James, Lynette and grandchildren, Joseph, Ben, Marc, Stephen, and Lisa Light and several great grandchildren. Joe also leaves behind his loving nieces and nephews the Grech, Castro, Andress, Flores and the Scotto Family. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. California St. Stockton, CA 95202. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll. A committal service with Military Honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, California.
