September 22, 1926 – January 27, 2018
Born in Watertown, South Dakota to Gustave Albert Marquardt and Theresa Dorothy Ann (Ronke) Marquardt. Our mother received her teaching certificate August 1, 1945 from the State of South Dakota. She began her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse. She later moved to California with her husband and two of her five daughters in 1954, eventually settling in Stockton for over 35 years. Our mother had many talents. She was a fine seamstress, cook, and immaculate housekeeper. Her careers included bookkeeping, teaching, and running the switchboard at a local hospital. Raising her five daughters as a single mother for most of her life, she instilled in all of us a strong sense of self-worth and the belief we could accomplish anything.
Lavonne was predeceased by her parents Gustave & Theresa, her brother Laverne, our father Michael Alworth Lynch, our stepfather Lloyd Robbins, two infant grandchildren and one infant great-grandchild. She is survived by her sister Avanell and brother LaMar, her daugthers Pamela Dean (Stacey), Michele Forkner (Joe), Kimberlie Heinrich (Steven), Tamera Dove (Leon), and Rebecca Lynch, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. We will miss her beautiful smile, sense of humor, and her ability to make us all feel loved.
