Mary Lou Garate

Mary Lou was born in Seligman, AZ to Joseph and Beatrice Sanchez. She is survived by her life partner of 45 years, Sabino Garralda. She lived San Diego, CA and worked at General Dynamics Convair building airplanes for 20 years. She moved to Stockton, CA in 1962 and worked at Dameron Hospital for 20 years where she retired. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, entertaining guests. She loved sewing, crocheting afghans for family and friends, and the plants in her yard. She is preceeded in death by her sisters Virginia Sanchez of Arizona and Helen Castellon of Stockton, and her daughter Virginia Berrios of San Diego, CA. She is survived by her daughter Yolanda Hill (David) of Stockton and sister Ruth Regalado of Stockton, grandson Scott Hill (Denise) of Fair Oaks, CA. Goddaughters Denise Soto of San Diego, Norma Estrada of Manteca, and Elia Franco of Big Bear, CA as well as many cousins in Stockton, and Arizona. Visitation will be held from 2pm-5pm and a Rosary at 5pm on Thursday, May 21 at DeYoung Memorial Chapel. Mass will be held at St. Lukes Church at 10am with Committal Service to follow at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery on Friday, May 22.
