

Murphy Lee Warmsley Sr. was born in Benson, Louisiana on April 12, 1945, to Kelly and Sarah (Brown)Warmsley. Murphy fought a long battle with Parkinson's disease which led to many other issues and passed away at the age of 78 on September 9th, 2023, peacefully in his home.
Murphy graduated from Edison High school. Murphy joined the U.S Army and served in Vietnam in the 1st battalion 506th infantry of the 101st airborne division in which he received his parachutist and sharpshooter badge (rifle and pistol). Murphy also served one tour in the U.S. Navy and received a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
Murphy spent a few years as a part time DJ for a popular college radio station KUOP playing music - spinning the tunes was just another one of his talents. He also worked for the City of Stockton.
He enjoyed watching war movies, the news and history channel. Murphy knew how to cook & was known for his hot water corn bread. Murphy spent his last few years being loved and cared for by his oldest granddaughter Angel (Donovan) & his great grandkids.
Murphy was preceded in death by his parents Sarah & Kelly Warmsley, his brother Leveston Warmsley, wife Sandra Warmsley & grandson Shean Mayo Jr.
Murphy is survived by his children: Murphy Warmsley Jr., Christopher Warmsley, Stephanie Mayo, Kimberly Warmsley, Zella Warmsley & Shanna Seward-Clark, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren & a special cousin Eugene Calhoun. Murphy also leaves behind his dogs that he loved, Chopper & Peppy.
