Nelson Galicinao

On February 25, 2019, Nelson Galicinao, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his wife and children, just as he wished. Nelson was born on December 1, 1953 in Stockton, CA to “Fred” and Maria (Acoba) Galicinao. After graduating from Edison High School, he served in the Air Force then returned to his hometown Stockton where he met and married his lifelong partner in crime Teresa Galicinao on October 28, 1978.He earned his AA at Delta College, retired from the US Postal Service and most recently enjoyed construction project managing in San Joaquin County and having fun with his colleagues and customers at the local AT&T store.

Nelson had a passion for spending time with his family and friends, mostly at the softball fields, bowling alleys, golf courses, Lake Tahoe ski runs, as well as researching restaurants and his dream cars, cooking for family, traveling, playing the slots and taking pictures of food. He was known for his big, infectious smile, random wit and caring spirit. Nelson is survived by his mother Maria of Stockton, wife Teresa of Stockton, son Shawn of Stockton (wife LeeAnn, children Zion, Gavin, Mateo and Jaxon), daughter Brie of Santa Barbara and several inherited siblings, nieces, nephews and work family members. He is reunited with his favorite Filipino, his father, Fred Galicinao. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, from 3 to 7 p.m. with a Funeral service being held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 11 o'clock a.m. All services will be at the DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St. Stockton.
