Nita Jean Hungerford

Nita Wallace Hungerford 4/3/52 - 4/26/2016 Nita went home to be with the Lord, on 04-26-16 after a two month battle with Pneumonia, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and a fungal lung infection called Aspergillus. She is survived by her husband, Jon Hungerford, whom was the love of her life. They were married for 44 wonderful years. She will also be sadly missed by her daughter, Jill Plath and son-in-law Rick Plath, her son Chip Hungerford and daughter-in-law Sarah Hungerford, her son Adam Hungerford and her four precious grandchildren, Jordan Heath, Ethan Frith, and Kaitlyn and Alyssa Hungerford, all of whom were her life and gave her great joy. Nita was born in Springdale Arkansas in 1952. She moved to Stockton CA, in 1960 with her father, Beery Walter Wallace, adoptive mother, Fran Wallace and step brother Rick Wallace, all of whom have preceded her in death. She attended Franklin High School in Stockton and married Jon Hungerford in 1972 in Reno, Nevada. For the last ten years before her retirement she worked as a Revenue Assistant for the City of Stockton. Her husband, children and grandchildren meant the world to her. She loved spending time with them at family events, sporting events, vacations, holidays, the bowling alley and the yacht club. She also enjoyed thrift store shopping, gardening, BBQing, collecting pigs and taking care of all the numerous animals she had throughout her life. She was the most loving, caring and giving person we will ever know. There is not a day that will go by that we will not think of her and miss her deeply. She was our rock, strength and the core of our lives and family. One of her favorite quotes was: 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.’ The celebration of Nita’s life will be Sunday 5/1/16 Please contact the family for further information.
