Patricia was born on April 21,1929 in Stockton, California. She was the youngest child of Francis Newton Stout and Margaret “Peggy” Stout (née Thomas).
As a young teenager, Patricia was a member of Job’s Daughters International. She graduated from Stockton High School in 1947. In 1949 she earned her Associate Arts degree at Stockton College. During her years in high school, she was in the school orchestra and then in college she became a member of the Stockton Symphony Orchestra playing her instrument of choice, the viola.
In 1951 she graduated with distinction from San Jose State College with a degree in education. She wanted to be a scientist but relented to the times and became a teacher. Her first class was in 1951 at Elmwood Elementary in Stockton. During her first years of teaching, she made lifetime friends with many fellow teachers. In 1989 she retired from teaching from Stockton Unified with her last teaching job at Stagg High School.
In 1956 while teaching at Elwood, Patricia married Osvaldo “Kelly” Vannucci, the brother of her friend, Lola Cooney. They were married for 51 years. Her husband adored her.
While she and her husband raised three girls, Patricia earned her Master of Arts degree from University of the Pacific in Stockton in 1976.
Patricia was adventurous and loved to travel. Journeys with her young family include annual trips to Santa Cruz, and special excursions to Yosemite, Hawaii and Disneyland, as well as trips taken with her father and sometimes extended family, in and around Tahoe, the Walker River, the Ruby Mountains, and Vancouver.
As her daughters grew older, Patricia began to take trips with her girlfriends as well. She traveled across the USA including Stout Island. She studied Italian and traveled to Italy multiple times, where she would often visit Osvaldo’s family residing in Lucca. She explored Europe extensively, as well as a tour to Greece, Turkey and Israel, and a later tour to Australia and New Zealand.
Patricia’s interests and hobbies, in addition to traveling, were reading novels, going to the Stockton Symphony, going out to lunch and dinner with family and friends, and catching a movie at the local theater especially musicals and comedies.
Patricia is survived by her daughters, Margaret Haskins (Richard Humphrey), Kathy Pedersen (Jim), and Corrinne Perry (Rick), as well as her grandchildren (Matthew, Ryan, Michelle, Camry, Katelyn, Christopher, Connor, Kim and Ted) and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Osvaldo, and her siblings, Jean Hagan and Neal Stout.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for January 20, 2026, at 11:00AM at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:30PM at Corrinne Perry’s home.
