

Patrick Phillips, 78, of Stockton passed away August 28, 2016. He was born April 4, 1938 in French Camp, CA to Thomas and Evelyn Phillips. Patrick received his High School Diploma from Delta College. In February 1957 he enlisted in the United States Navy as an electronic technician, earning a Good Conduct Medal in 1960. He then transferred to the Naval Reserve in 1961. Patrick then started his career as a Police Officer for the Stockton Police Department. Additionally he worked as a taxidermist and enjoyed a lifelong passion of trophy hunting for himself and others which took him to Kyrgyzstan, South Africa, Canada, New Mexico, Mexico, Alaska, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, and many other exotic places.
Patrick was an amazing man, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Diane of 23 years; daughters Cheryl Mitchell and Theresa Bottke; grandchildren Kimberly Martinez, Jeffrey Kuntz, and Michael Bottke; his sidekick Jerry Hunter; sisters Diana Rockey, Virginia Stewart, brother Charles Phillips; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Patrick will be especially missed by long time friends Eddie Piazza, Charles Neisby, Jim Morales, Dolan Hicks, Larry Garibaldi, Don Giottanini, and Gary Bryant .
A simple service celebrating Patrick’s life will be held Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at SPOA Building, 217 West Fyffe Street, Rough and Ready Island.
