He graduated from Edison High School and received his Associates of Art Degree from San Joaquin Delta College. Robert was retired from Del Monte Cannery where he worked as a warehouseman. He was also active in the community serving with the Registrar of Voters and working on various election campaigns.
Robert was a compassionate and caring individual. Throughout his life, he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Whether running errands for others, helping with a move or cleaning a home, Robert never turned down a friend in need. He also dedicated the last 20 years of his life caring for his mother and father.
He was always the life of the party. You knew that once Robert walked in, he’d light up the room and the party would begin! Robert was also never without a wisecrack to those he cared about. He loved his nieces and nephews and showed it by giving them fun loving nicknames like “Neddy, Pepino, Pancake and The Brown Boy” or joking that they would cut junior high school to “eat jelly donuts and drink buttermilk.” We loved his humor and our family will never be the same without him!
His mother, his oldest brother William H. and his nephew William H. Sanders III preceded Robert in death.
Robert is survived by his father William W. Sanders; two children -- son, Robert and daughter, Kirsten; brothers Danny and Norris (Sue); sister Janice (Sherman); sister-in-law Bonita; nieces Leah Moore-Maynard, Trina Bedford, Lee Hill, Odessa Sanders, Tamika Trahan, Dacia Trahan and Kimberlie Sanders; nephews Warrick Sanders, Kevin Sanders, Rion Sanders, Jarrett Sanders, Demetrius Sanders; 21 great nieces and nephews; and 3 great-great nieces.
We will always remember, love and greatly miss his laugh, his smile, his humor and the tilt of his head (in every picture).
Arrangements under the direction of Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, Stockton, CA.
