Lord on January 8, 2018. She
will be sorely missed by all who
knew and loved her. Vera was
born in Arkansas in April 1925,
to Ollie and Viola Copeland.
She was part of a family of nine
children. Vera was preceded in
death by seven siblings, including
her twin sister Era, who left
this earth in 2017.
Vera loved and raised four children,
sharing with them her love
of life and her deep faith in God.
Her children, Dewayne Long
(who preceded her in death),
Carolyn Valdez, Sharon Holcomb
and Dennis Patzer, gave
her six grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren,
and four greatgreat
grandchildren.
Vera was generous and compassionate
to everyone she knew.
She was a devoted mother and
grandmother, who loved unconditionally.
Vera’s lifelong passion
for dancing kept her young
and energetic, until the last few
years of her life.
Funeral services will be held on
Thursday, January 18, 2018, at
11:00 a.m., at the Chapel of
Flowers, Cherokee Memorial
Park, Lodi.
