

Allen “Albert” Duain Conklin of Stony Plain passed away suddenly, January 10th, 2017. A celebration of Allen’s life in pictures and song will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, January 17th at the Heritage Pavilion, 5100-41st Avenue, Stony Plain. Allen was born January 25th, 1950 in Brooks. to Russel and Edith (Larsen) Conklin. He was raised on the family farm in Rainier. On November 30th, 1974 Allen married the love of his life, the former Josie Boucher of Lac La Biche in Medicine Hat. He spent a lifetime working on the rigs, starting as a teenager, eventually becoming a fishing engineer traveling to many places in Western Canada, the Middle East and Northern Africa. He spent the last year of his working life traveling through many parts of the United States transporting holiday trailers with the love of his life by his side. He was a dedicated father to his two daughters Carrie and Amanda and a devoted husband to Josie. He worked hard for his family while away and gave all of his time to them while he was home.
Allen is survived by his wife Josie (Boucher) Conklin, his two daughters, Carrie (Conklin) Mack and her husband Blair of Sylvan Lake and Amanda (Conklin) Ward and her husband Cam Ward of Stony Plain; five grandchildren, Gracie, Thai and Evelyn Mack, Julia and Jack Conklin-Ward. Also survived by three brothers Dennis (Dianne) of Toowoomba, Australia, Calvyn (Kathy) Conklin and Randy Conklin, one sister Eva (Gordon) Deboef all of Medicine Hat, father in law Wally of Quill Lake, brother in laws Gary (Tracy) of Edmonton, Darrin (Yvonne) of Quill Lake, Ernest (Marry) of Lac La Biche, Scotty of Lac La Biche as well as many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Allen was predeceased by father Russel, brother Gordon, mother Edith and granddaughter Tia.
