Dale worked for Atco Electric for 35 years and then for a contractor for some years after “retiring.” He also enjoyed taking vacation time to go work for farmers and complete other jobs, as he was a dedicated and hard working man who never let the grass grow under his feet for long. Dale worked hard, but also played hard. He loved being active and playing a variety of sports such as hockey and baseball as well as enjoying time outside golfing, fishing, hunting, and camping with family and friends. One of his greatest joys in life was going and watching his grandson do anything as well as spending time with him in a variety of activities and hijinks.
Family meant everything to Dale. He is survived and missed dearly by his wife Carol; daughter Chelsey (Ted) Heyworth; grandson Finley Heyworth; sisters Jeannette Scott (Brian Kent), Luella Knievel, Rita (Bruce) Franks; brother Jim (Nancy) Knievel; and extended family including nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dale was predeceased by his parents Mathieu (Pat) and Rose Knievel, extended family, and dear friends.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and Westview Continuing Care Centre for their kindness and care of our much loved husband/dad/grandpaw/brother/uncle/friend.
You are invited to share memories of Dale’s life and condolences through this site. He was a man with a huge heart who touched the lives of many. He will be forever missed.
As per Dale’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Spruce Grove at 11 a.m. on October 26, 2026. Following the celebration, a eulogy and luncheon will be held in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Parkland Food Bank, The Bruce Cemetery Committee via canadahelps.org, or KidSport in your community.
