Daniel Kenneth Humphries was born near Islington, Ontario, on May 24, 1944, and passed at the WestView Health Centre in Stony Plain, Alberta, on March 15, 2023. He is survived by his brother, Paul (Sybil), four nieces and nephews and eight grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, David Edward and Edna (Betty) Catherine (Field), and his brother, David Thomas.
From the farm, he worked for Ford Canada for 30 years, retiring at age 52 to work with horses. He was quite successful showing horses throughout Eastern Canada and the United States.
His first love, though, was fishing, and he thoroughly enjoyed being on the lake with the children of his extended family during his second retirement.
He enjoyed his last seven years at Chateau Lac Ste Anne, where the care was excellent. In his last weeks, he received exemplary care in the Emergency, Family Medicine and Palliative Care wards at WestView Health Centre.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Lac Ste Anne Foundation.
