

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Daniel Robert MacTavish, on July 8th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Dan was surrounded by the love of his family, who stayed by his side until he found the peace he was praying for.
Though cancer challenged his body, it never diminished his spirit. He faced each day with remarkable courage, determination, and grace.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Marlene; his children, Terry (Laurie) MacTavish, Lee (Chey- Anne Lovli) MacTavish, his precious grandchildren, Kyle MacTavish, Renee (Rob) Hall, Cameron (Caitlin) MacTavish, Kayla Lovli (Brett Miller); Scott MacTavish, and Colton MacTavish. Siblings Doris Olenyk, Jean (Frank) Wood, Jack (Shirley) McTavish , Marge (Wayne) Lux, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him dearly.
Dan was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Gladys McTavish.
Born in March 1940 in Prince George, BC, moving to Alberta in 1947 and eventually settling on their farm in 1972. Dan had many jobs but is best know for Kry-Mac Septic Service and the farm he loved for over 55 years. He will be remembered for his warm smile, generous heart, sense of humor, and the way he made others feel valued and loved. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the family he adored.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on July 22 at Heritage Park, 5100 41 Avenue, Stony Plain, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan’s name to Light Up Your Life Tri-Community Palliative/Hospice Care Society or the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
